The party traveled into the enormous cave, Graven leading proudly. No sooner had they entered that they were attacked by a small pack of orcs. Dispatching of them quickly, Graven saw the guardians of the doors both killed. The group quickly hurried into the town, seeing it burned and razed with no one to be found. More orcs jumped out from cover and charged the team. After the battle, the party moved on to Graven’s home.
The small cottage was in shambles. Inside, Graven found a note from one of his sons, stating he was off to save the clan. With grim determination, Graven marched towards the lesser-known caverns he had wandered as a child. Facing gelatanous cubes and countless orcs, the team had made their way deep into the tunnels. The rogue crept futher along to scout ahead to find a large force of orcs setting up camp.
Unknowing of the ranger following him, a simple query caused the rogue to yelp, alerting the orcs to their presence. A desperate battle ensued, with the orc chieftan stepping in, the head of Graven’s only daughter strapped to his belt. With a righteous fury, Graven smashed through the opposition and attacked the chieftan, felling him in a matter of a few hammer blows. After dispatching the rest of the orcs, the group freed the clan, and the clan welcomed home their heroes.
After greetings were over, the shaman of their clan approached Graven and offered a reversal of his daughter’s death, should he find a phoenix feather, rumored to be within a dragon’s treasure horde. With a renewed hope, the party, now calling itself “Big Damn Heroes” at Graven’s insistence, ventured into forgotten passages in search of an ancient horde…
